Dr. Simon Abu-Aita

Dr. Simon earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Midwestern University after completing a Master’s degree in Biology at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis and his undergraduate studies at Indiana University. His strong scientific background, combined with a passion for modern technology and continuing education, allows him to provide comprehensive, high-quality dental care with a focus on long-term health and aesthetics.

Part of Dr. Simon’s inspiration for pursuing dentistry came during his undergraduate years, when he participated in dental mission trips to Haiti alongside the dentists who had treated him growing up. Serving underserved communities showed him firsthand how powerful dentistry can be in improving someone’s quality of life. Even with language and cultural barriers, trust was built through compassion, human connection, and the ability to relieve pain. That experience reinforced his belief that dentistry is as much about caring for people as it is about clinical skill.

Before opening Smile Haus, Dr. Simon practiced in a thriving private dental office in Crown Point, Indiana, where he gained extensive experience in restorative, cosmetic, and comprehensive dentistry. He strives to provide a wide range of treatments in-house, including crown and bridge restorations, root canal therapy, dental implants, surgical procedures, dentures, and full-mouth rehabilitation. By incorporating modern digital workflows and continuously expanding his clinical training, he is committed to providing a high level of care for his patients.

At Smile Haus, Dr. Simon has designed every detail of the space and patient experience to feel different from a traditional dental office: warm, modern, and welcoming. He believes the difference between good dentistry and great dentistry often comes down to taking extra time to truly care for patients and make sure they feel comfortable and understood.

Dr. Simon is an active member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He also participates in a Seattle Study Club and regularly pursues continuing education to stay at the forefront of modern dentistry.

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Simon enjoys spending time with his wife, Denise, and their family, staying active, traveling, and pursuing creative ideas and new projects. His passion for growth, positivity, and connection is at the heart of everything he brings to Smile Haus.

At the end of the day, his goal is simple: for every patient to leave Smile Haus feeling cared for, more confident in their smile, and with a story worth sharing.
