Your First Visit
What to Bring
Gather these before you come in, so check-in goes smoothly:
- A valid photo ID
- Your dental insurance card (if you have coverage)
- A list of any medications you currently take
- Any previous dental records or X-rays, if you have them
- Your completed new patient forms (we'll send these ahead of time so you can fill them out at home)
No insurance? No problem. We'll walk you through your options when you arrive.
What Happens at Your First Appointment
Before You Arrive
You'll receive your new patient forms before your appointment. Fill them out at your own pace, at home, without feeling rushed. This gives Dr. Simon and the team a head start on understanding your needs before you even walk through the door.
If you feel nervous or it's been a while since your last visit, that's completely fine. You can let us know ahead of time, or simply tell us when you arrive. We've heard it before, and we're not here to make you feel bad about it.
When You Arrive
The moment you walk in, you'll notice this doesn't feel like a typical dental office. Help yourself to something from the beverage bar, settle in, and let the front desk team know you're here. You'll be greeted by name and shown around so nothing feels unfamiliar.
Before anything clinical happens, someone from our team sits down with you to learn about your goals, concerns, and what brought you in. We listen first. Everything else comes after.
In the Chair
Once you are ready, you will head back to one of our treatment rooms. If a cleaning is part of your visit, Smile Haus uses air polishing technology — a pressurized stream of warm water, air, and fine powder that removes plaque and biofilm more gently and thoroughly than traditional hand scaling. Less scraping, warmer water, and a faster clean without cutting corners.
Dr. Simon will introduce himself, answer any questions you have, and walk you through what he is looking at during your exam. He explains what he sees in plain terms you can actually understand, not dental jargon that leaves you guessing.
Treatment Planning
After your exam, Dr. Simon reviews his findings with you directly. If you need any treatment, he explains what it is, why it matters, and what happens if you decide to wait. No pressure. No scare tactics. Just clear information so you can make the choice that's right for you.
If you need work done, you'll leave knowing exactly what your options are, what it costs, and what the next steps look like. Everything you need to get care at Smile Haus stays at Smile Haus, which means no referrals to unfamiliar offices across town.
Check-Out
When your visit wraps up, you'll stop by the front desk to go over any next steps. If treatment is on the plan, the team will walk you through timing, costs, and payment options before you leave. You won't head out with unanswered questions.
